Hyundai has made some big changes in the transmission and engine of its popular and top-selling iLoad and iMax models. The upgradation has been carried on according to the company\\’s program of making continuous improvement towards enhancing the performance and gaining a good stranglehold in the marketplace.
Performance
The Hyundai iLoad van and iMax eight-seater are available with the new and improved 2.5 litre CRDi turbo diesel engine and a new six-speed manual transmission. What is making the waves that these revised changes have improved the fuel economy to a greater extent leaving a broad smile on the face of customers.
The usage of fuel in the iLoad diesel version has decreased down to 8.0 1/100km with the manual and 8.0 1/100km for the automatic version, falling from 8.5 and 9.6 1/100km respectively. In case of iMax, the wastage of fuel has amazingly come down to 8.1 and 9.0 1/100 Km when in contrast with the older engine that had the fuel consumption figure of 8.5 and 9.8 1/100 km.
The variable geometry turbocharger has also been removed from the engine resulting in the significant reduction of power and torque levels. Now, the new 2.5 litre four cylinder engine along with the manual transmission produces 100kW of power and 343Nm of torque. Earlier, the previous engine produced 125kW of power and 392Nm of torque.
